Chino Hills Community Foundation

What Is The Chino Hills Community Foundation?

The Chino Hills Community Foundation is directed by 16 board members. The board sets the strategic direction for fundraising and donations while rolling up our sleeves to plan and work the events.

The Foundation’s fundraising efforts are currently anchored by our signature community event, the Chino Hills Wine Walk. This event helps drive our quest to raise money for the many good projects we support in the community. But, just as important, is our mission to ensure everything we do is tied to events that create a “sense of community.”

The donations to the community are broad and important. Our first donation as a Foundation was $70,000 to the Library in 2009.  From that point on, we have not stopped our varied contributions to the community.  Larger donations include- $335,000 to fund computers, furniture and artwork inside the then new Community Center in 2014, $75,000 for Chino Hills trails enhancements in 2018/19 (the timing was perfect with Covid hitting in 2020), $173,000 to fund the large playground at the new Los Serranos Park in 2019.$50,000 was pledged in late 2023 to assist with the renovation of Torrey Pines Park.

The Foundation recently funded $125,000 for the new Inclusive Playground at Crossroads Park for kids with all abilities…including disabilities. It is a first in the region. The renovation project was completed in spring of 2024. Smaller (but still significant) foundation sums have been donated to the new Veteran’s Monument in 2019, summer day camp scholarships for kids, AEDs and trauma kits at locations around town, military service member banners for families who can’t afford to sponsor, shade structures for the community dog park, adaptive swings for playgrounds, bike repair stations around town, $2500 yearly to assist the CH Historical Society and yearly donations for families in need at Christmas time.

Besides our signature Wine Walk event, we have built on our sense of community with Home Tours,Jazz and Blues Festivals, a yearly springtime Kid Art Day and our very popular Concert Series (with known artists gracing our concert stage). In total, the Foundation has raised more than $2,000,000+ in our first 15 years…with all monies going back to the community!
